Chemcoaters is executing concrete testing with its InterCoat® ChemGuard product line to determine if InterCoat®ChemGuard offers a performance improvement over traditional, widely utilized, hexavalent chromate passivations.
CUT EDGE
You know how when you cut carbon steel it seems to almost instantly rust on the cut edge? InterCoat® ChemGuard offers excellent edge protection, thanks to its InterReactive® technology. The InterReactive® layer of ChemGuard reacts with newly exposed zinc on the edge, further protecting your substrate and product life.
PERFORATION
After drilling a hole into three pieces of galvanized metal and putting each piece in a salt spray test for 1,000 hours: hot dipped galvanized has 80% red rust on the perforation, galvalume has 60%, and InterCoat®ChemGuard has minimal rust on perforation.
